originally released in 05, a constellation was my favorite kamiki aya song for quite some time. i liked the rock orchestration, the lyrics, the way she sings, and all the little subtle things in the sounds or enunciation. then i heard the 07 version.

the remix is the same song with a slower tempo, less complicated sounds, and strings. honestly, if you want to make any good song sound completely chilling, this is exactly what you do; i guess she took a page off the master. in short, it turned an already great song into something more. the rock version is still definitely very nice, but a more emotionally warm feeling and sounding arrangement gives a song more depth, and even lets you match a version to your mood.

ive always thought of her as a great vocalist, and being given the opportunity to change it up a little bit for this track was a nice surprise. this type of more sparce arrangement also gives the vocals more focus and demands a stronger attention of the listener. it came out beautifully.

aya explored a bit more of the slower/ballad type of song in her latest album are you happy now?
