i didnt pick an older track from when they were truly underground back around 03 just because this one came up on my playlist, and i love it.
leessang is a two person group, consisting of a rapper and a melodist which i guess is a little bit unusual for serious hip hop. the two also like to do lots of collaborations with other rappers, track makers, and often female vocalists (but not the kind you would expect).
what i really like about this group, and the korean scene in general, is their ability to make amazing beats. by throwing in all sorts of unconventional sounds, instruments, ornamentations and so on, there is so much more possiblity for interesting tracks. and as far as im concerned, this song has got a lot of it all. there is honestly nothing i dislike about it, the variation in everything, the little drop sounding touches, the development over the whole song is just superb.
solid lyrics, hot tracks, their style is just amazing. my only hope is that they can preserve it without being sucked into the mainstream kpop world.
