before anyone says anything, the original version is by a korean hip hop group freestyle, titled please tell me why. much as i love the koreans, the chinese version is better, sorry.
so this bastard goes and does a perf with hebe during s.h.es 07 china tour, not cool. even though i do remember thinking, hey i bet hebes voice would sound really good in this, they should do a recording; way before it ever happened. oh well. some other interesting trivia is that xuan zi also performed this song (singing her chinese parts) with freestyle. i actually like their version better because i like xuan zis voice, but will pan has never been anything special.
almost everyone knows this song for some reason or another, and most people only know of will because of it. bu de bu ai has a really nice arrangement to it (shoutout to the koreans, what did i tell you) and i feel that the less hip hop oriented chinese version suits the mood of the song better. along with fitting the mood better, focusing on making a duet was also a good move. it was probably not hard to think of doing that though, since the original already had a female voice in it.
